Del reconocimiento y protección de los derechos de las personas en la atención de salud mental
Abstract
El martes 11 de mayo, el Presidente de la República de Chile anunció la publicación de la “Ley de Protección de la Salud Mentalâ€. Durante la ceremonia, dio cifras alarmantes sobre la salud mental en el paÃs. Además, contó que su padre sufrÃa de depresión y que esto afectó a su familia. Tanto las cifras como la experiencia personal del Presidente fueron argumentos para enfatizar la necesidad de tratamiento para los problemas de salud mental. La respuesta del Presidente a esta necesidad son sus iniciativas “SaludableMente†y “Hospital Digitalâ€. Más que referirme a las insuficiencias de estas iniciativas, quisiera aclarar que ellas poco tienen que ver con la ley que el Presidente estaba publicando.Downloads
