Abstract

Resumen:

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo verificar el comportamiento de determinadas funciones ejecutivas (FE) en padres cuyos hijos presentan TEA y comparar este funcionamiento cognitivo con padres cuyos hijos no presentan la condición. Este análisis se realizó por medio de un diseño de estudio no experimental, de tipo descriptivo correlacional.

Del análisis de estos resultados, se desprenden una tendencia a la baja en las FE de Memoria de Trabajo y Flexibilidad Cognitiva en el grupo experimental, sin alcanzar niveles de significancia, mientras que se identificó una tendencia al alza en las FE de Velocidad de Procesamiento e Inhibición en mismo grupo. Los puntajes más altos podrían explicarse por una mejora a nivel de estas funciones, secundario al entrenamiento que implica atender a los desafíos de la crianza de niños con TEA. No obstante, se requiere un mayor tamaño muestral para confirmar si hay particularidades significativas en el funcionamiento cognitivo de los padres de niños con TEA que confirmen la presencia de un fenotipo ampliado.
