Aim: The Numerical Activities of Daily-Living-Financial (NADL-F) is a new test to assess financial capacity in the context of cognitive aging. The present study aims to determine the psychometric characteristics of the Portuguese version of NADL-F and identify a relationship of financial capacity with different sociodemographic, clinical and neuropsychological variables. Methods: The sample consisted of 16 participants, organized into two groups: Mild Neurocognitive Disorder (n = 11) and Major Neurocognitive Disorder (n = 5). All participants were applied NADL-F, the Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination, the INECO Frontal Screening, the Arithmetic task from the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-III, the Instrumental Activities of Daily Living and the Geriatric Depression Scale. Results: The Portuguese version of NADL-F showed good acceptability, with missing data below 10% and ceiling and floor effects below 80%. Revealed a reasonable internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = .791). All domains of the scale correlated significantly with the total value of the test and inter domain correlations were found. As a complement, correlations were obtained between the NADL-F and the different neuropsychological assessment tests and continuous sociodemographic variables. Conclusion: This study of the Portuguese version of NADL-F reveals promising psychometric characteristics for the specific assessment of financial capacity in the context of Mild and Major Neurocognitive Disorder.
