Abstract

Currently, life in society is closely linked to the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in all its aspects. This situation implies both psychological benefits and difficulties. The former ones are frequently associated with excessive use of ICT and the stress caused by it. The study centers its interest into analyzing possible relationships between the use of ICTs, technostress and age of school, high school and college students in the city of Asuncion. The participants were 1819 students, 771 males and 1048 females, ages between 11 and 55 (M=18.93, SD=5.92). The ICT Use Questionnaire (Coppari et al., 2013) and the Technostress Behavior Questionnaire (Coppari et al, 2013) were applied. The results indicate that use of ICTs is a significant predictor of technostress levels. Also, the results show weak significant correlations (r=0.27; p<0.001) between Use of ICTs and Technostress, and Use of ICTs and age (r=0.19; p<0.001).

Key words: age; investigation report; paraguayan students; technostress; ICTs.
